Ms. Elston began her legal career in 1993 upon earning a paralegal degree from University of West Los Angeles, specializing in litigation and probate. She continued her education by earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Paralegal Studies from the University in 2000. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the Ventura College of Law in 2012 with specialization in Family Law and Criminal Law.
While at Ventura College of Law, Ms. Elston gained valuable training in mediation while providing services as an intern with the Ventura Center for Dispute Settlement and Ventura County Small Claims court. She also trained with the Ventura County Public Defenders Office from 2011-2013 as chief assistant in Mental Health Court and Veterans Court, in addition to Misdemeanor Court.
Ms. Elston was the 2012 recipient of the Mary Sullivan Scholarship Award from Women Lawyers of Ventura County for her dedication to public service and the advancement of women in the legal profession.
Before entering the legal field, Ms. Elston worked in finance security as a credit card investigator. She was an acting member of the International Association of Credit Card Investigators.
The focus of Ms. Elston's practice is family law, encompassing issues such as divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, and pre- and post-marital agreements.
Ms. Elston joined the firm in 2013. She is admitted to practice in California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She is a member of the Ventura County Bar Association, Ventura County Family Law Bar Association, Women Lawyers of Ventura County and Jerome H. Berenson Chapter of the American Inns of Court. She is an active volunteer attorney with the Free Clinic of Simi Valley and an attorney coach for the Channel Islands High School Mock Trial Team.
