Mr. Covner received his undergraduate education at the University of California, Santa Barbara, graduating with a B.A., in Religious Studies. He attended the Santa Barbara College of Law in the evening while working full time during the day. During law school, he interned for one year at the Santa Barbara County Counsel's Office. Mr. Covner was the Valedictorian of his law school graduating class in 1997. In April, 1998, Mr. Covner began his legal career with an insurance defense law firm in Ventura. His current civil litigation practice encompasses several areas of law including medical and dental malpractice (defense only), licensing board disciplinary proceedings, employment law, probate and trust, residential and commercial construction, landlord-tenant, conservatorship, real property, business and commercial law, and personal injury. Mr. Covner is a member of the Ventura County Bar Association, the Ventura County Trial Lawyers, and the Jerome H. Berenson Ventura County Inn of Court. He serves as a Judge Pro Tem for the Ventura County Superior Court and as an arbitrator for the Ventura County Mandatory Fee Arbitration program.
